Days of Our Lives Receives Daytime Emmy Nomination for Best Daytime Drama

0 415

After a delay put down to closing a broadcast deal, the 39th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards nominations have been announced.  And Days of our Lives features in some notable categories!

While General Hospital took out the most nominations this year with 23, Days of our Lives put in a respectable mid pack showing with 15 nominations:

General Hospital – 23 nomnations
The Young and the Restles – 16 nominations
Days of our Lives – 15 nominations
The Bold and the Beautiful – 11 nominations
One Life To Live – 11 nominations
All My Children – 11 nominations
Perhaps the most surprising aspect of this year’s nominations is the apparent fall from grace of The Bold and the Beautiful with only 11 nominations.  Most notable is that the show that has taken out the Outstanding Drama Series statue for the past 3 years didn’t even receive a nomination in that category.

But what of the broadcast partner that delayed the announcement of the nominations last week?  That deal is as yet not finalized.  Hopefully a broadcast deal will be finalized so we can watch our favorite soap actor’s glam up and receive their statues.

The 39th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards will be held on June 23, 2012 at the Beverly Hilton.

Update! The event will be televised.  Watch for the 39th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards on June 23 , 2012, at 5 PM Pacific and 8PM Eastern on HLN
