Confirmed! Peter Reckell (Bo Brady) Leaving Days of our Lives?

Peter Reckell’s wife, Kelly Moneymaker, was active on Twitter yesterday.  Could it be true that contract negotiations between Reckell and Days of our Lives have ended and that the actor could be leaving the show?

@lifeisgood83 Hard to say goodbye to characters who’ve been on 4ever!!Hard 2 believe Bo will be one of those shortly!

Or is this just an attempt to get a social media campaign going like the rehire Jack campaign Matthew Ashford fans started.

Time will tell…

Well, it appears the long drawn out contract negotiations between Days of our Lives and actor Peter Reckell have indeed collapsed.

Reckell, who originated the role of long haired motor-cycle riding rebel Bo Brady in 1983 has confirmed today that he is leaving Days of our Lives.  The actor said he would be open to a return in the future.

Because Days of our Lives tapes so far ahead of airdates, Bo Brady, and Peter Reckell will be seen on our screens until October, 2012.  It will be interesting to see what kind of send-off the writers give our favorite anti-hero turned hero, and what it means for wife Hope Brady (Kristian Alfonso).

Will Bo and Hope remarry before he departs?
